Time for a short story ✍️

Rajesh (32) is a husband and father of two living in a metropolitan area. While committed to his family, his current skills and experience limit his ability to secure a high-paying job that affords a comfortable lifestyle in the city.

Rajesh turned to a mobile app called Rupeya with the hope of generating passive income. However, the app’s interface proved to be unintuitive and difficult to grasp. The lack of clarity left him feeling frustrated and stuck, hindering his ability to leverage the app effectively.

Competitor Analysis

Our two main competitors were Rocket Singh and GrowMo. They are doing great in this market, but no product can be perfect in all aspects. So, we tried to figure out points where our competitors were lagging.

These points helped us to promote our product more confidently and gave us an upper hand.

Learnings and Outcome

  • By doing this project I got to learn that the more research we do on the user’s behavior and user pain points, the better and better product we will make.
  • Overall Rupeya got 200K+ users till when I was in the organization. More than 10,000 daily active users were earning more than 20Lakh rupees per month.
  • In between there were some iterations of the designs to enhance some weak sections of the products. We always tried to keep our KPIs in mind so that we could drive the result out of our strategy in design that we wanted.
  • Having a good team with a clear vision and goals is good. They will allow you to lead the product and learn the best out of it.
